Cybersecurity
Consulting, implementation and compliance readiness
Controls that exist only on paper do not stop attackers, and technical controls nobody can evidence do not satisfy auditors. We work on both: designing and implementing the controls, and preparing the evidence.
Consulting support, not certification
We support organizations preparing for frameworks and customer security reviews. We do the work around the audit: gap analysis, control design, technical implementation, evidence preparation and mock reviews.
We are not an auditor, a certification body or an authorized assessor. A SOC 2 report is issued by a licensed CPA firm. ISO 27001 certification is awarded by an accredited certification body. PCI DSS validation and CMMC assessments are performed by qualified assessors. Penetration testing supports compliance objectives but does not, by itself, make you compliant.
Services
-
Cybersecurity strategy and vCISO support
Part-time senior security leadership: risk assessment, a two-to-three year roadmap, budget and board reporting.
-
Security architecture review
Review a system or platform design for trust boundaries, data flows, identity, resilience and detection before or after it is built.
-
NIST CSF 2.0 assessment
Assess current and target maturity across the six functions of NIST CSF 2.0: Govern, Identify, Protect, Detect, Respond, Recover.
-
SOC 2 readiness
Prepare for a SOC 2 examination: scope, control design, evidence collection, gap remediation and a mock walkthrough.
-
ISO 27001 readiness
Prepare an information security management system: scope, risk assessment, Statement of Applicability, control implementation and internal audit.
-
PCI DSS security support
Scope the cardholder data environment, close technical gaps and prepare evidence. Assessment sign-off stays with your QSA or self-assessment process.
-
HIPAA security risk analysis
Technical support for the risk analysis HIPAA requires: identify where ePHI lives, assess threats and safeguards, and plan remediation.
-
Third-party risk assessments
Evaluate vendors and partners by what they can reach in your environment, not only by questionnaire answers.
-
Security engineering and implementation
Hands-on delivery of security controls and platforms: design, deploy, integrate, migrate, test and hand over.
-
CMMC readiness
Help defense contractors scope CUI environments, close NIST SP 800-171 gaps and prepare evidence for a CMMC assessment.
How a security engineering project runs
- 1
Requirements
Business goals, threat model, constraints, existing tools.
- 2
Design
Target architecture, data flows, access model, integration points.
- 3
Proof of concept
Validate the riskiest assumption on a small scale.
- 4
Implementation
Deploy and configure, with infrastructure as code where possible.
- 5
Integration and migration
Connect to identity, logging and ticketing. Move data and users.
- 6
Testing and validation
Confirm the control works and that detection fires.
- 7
Documentation
Runbooks, diagrams and operating procedures.
- 8

Train your team to run it without us.
Questions people ask
Can you make us SOC 2 or ISO 27001 compliant?
Compliance and certification come from an independent auditor or certification body. We help you get ready, with gap analysis, control implementation and evidence preparation, so the audit goes smoothly.
Is a penetration test required for compliance?
Several frameworks require or expect security testing. Whether a test satisfies a given requirement depends on the framework and your auditor. We scope tests to match the requirement and explain what the report does and does not demonstrate.
