Oracle practice

Oracle reporting and analytics

Oracle Fusion has several reporting tools, and each fits a different need. We help you choose the right tool for each report and build them so they stay fast and secure.

What organizations bring us

Reports are where users judge a new system. If month-end packs, invoices and statutory outputs do not arrive in the format they expect, adoption suffers regardless of how well processes work. Teams then build everything in the first tool they find, usually running heavy queries against the transactional system.

We separate reporting by purpose. Quick operational questions go in OTBI. Formatted documents, such as invoices, checks and statutory forms, use BI Publisher. Historical analysis across systems moves to a warehouse fed by BICC or Fusion Data Intelligence.

What the platform covers

  • OTBI

Subject areas, analyses, dashboards and prompts for operational reporting, secured by Fusion roles.

  • BI Publisher

Data models, templates and bursting for invoices, payment files, statements and statutory forms.

  • Financial reporting

Financial Reporting Studio and Smart View for ledger-based reporting.

  • BICC extraction

Incremental extraction of view objects to storage for downstream use.

  • Fusion Data Intelligence

Prebuilt analytics on a managed warehouse, extended with your data.

  • Oracle Analytics

Dashboards and self-service analysis across Fusion and other sources.

Common use cases

  • Month-end finance pack

A set of ledger reports in Smart View and OTBI replaces spreadsheets assembled by hand.

  • Customer invoice and statement design

BI Publisher templates produce branded, localized invoices and statements.

  • Procurement spend analysis

Spend by category and supplier combined from Fusion and other sources.

  • Workforce dashboards

Headcount, turnover and compensation analytics with row-level security.

  2. 2

    Classify

Assign each to OTBI, BI Publisher, FRS or analytics.

  3. 3

    Design

Data models, subject area choices and security.

  4. 4

    Build and test

With real data volumes and roles.

  5. 5

    Tune and hand over

    Performance, scheduling, support.

Questions people ask

When should we use a warehouse?

When reports need history across systems, heavy aggregation or data from outside Fusion. Operational questions about current data can stay in OTBI.

Do OTBI reports respect Fusion security?

Yes, OTBI applies Fusion data security. Other tools need security defined separately, so we design it as part of the architecture.
