Oracle practice

Oracle Cloud integration

We design and build the integrations that connect Fusion to everything else. The emphasis is on patterns that fail visibly, recover cleanly and survive quarterly updates.

What organizations bring us

Integration work is where finance and HR projects often run late. Each connection has its own format, schedule and failure mode. Banks want specific file layouts. Payroll providers want specific extracts. A tax engine must respond quickly during invoice entry. Without an agreed pattern for each, projects rely on a handful of heroic developers.

We establish patterns first: when to use real-time REST, when to use file-based import, how to handle retries, how to alert, how to reprocess, and how to promote changes between environments. Then we build against them.

What the platform covers

  • Inbound to Fusion

FBDI for bulk loads, REST and SOAP for transactions, and the ERP Integration Service for scheduled imports.

  • Outbound from Fusion

Business events, BICC extracts, REST queries and scheduled reports delivered to files or APIs.

  • Orchestration

Multi-step flows with lookups, mapping, scheduling and conditional logic.

  • Monitoring and error handling

Tracking, alerts, reprocessing and audit of every integration run.

  • Security

Credentials, certificates, OAuth and least-privilege integration users.

  • Environments and promotion

Packaging, export and import between development, test and production.

Integration

  • Banks and payment services

Payment files, positive pay and statement import.

  • Tax engines

Avalara, Vertex or other services called during invoice and order entry.

  • Payroll and benefits providers

    Employee, deduction and payment data.

  • CRM and e-commerce

    Customers, orders, pricing and invoices.

  • Legacy and EBS

Phased migration with temporary bridges between old and new.

  • Data warehouse

    Extracts through BICC or APIs.

Integration pattern choices

Real-time request and response

  • REST
  • SOAP
  • Tax and validation calls

Use when a user is waiting. Needs timeouts and fallback behavior.

Scheduled bulk

  • FBDI
  • File import
  • Scheduled integrations

Use for high volumes. Needs control totals and rejection handling.

Event driven

  • Business events
  • Subscriptions

Use to react to changes. Needs ordering and duplication handling.

Extract

  • BICC
  • REST queries
  • BI Publisher output

Use to feed warehouses and downstream tools. Needs incremental logic.

How a project runs

  1. 1

    Inventory

List interfaces, volumes, frequencies, owners and failure impacts.

  2. 2

    Pattern selection

Pick the pattern for each and agree error handling.

  3. 3

    Build

Develop with reusable components and naming standards.

  4. 4

    Test

Functional, volume and failure testing, including restart.

  5. 5

    Deploy

    Promotion process and runbooks.

  6. 6

    Operate

Monitoring, alert routing and support handover.

What you receive

  • Interface inventory and pattern guide
  • Integration designs and mappings
  • Developed and tested integrations
  • Error handling and reprocessing procedures
  • Monitoring and alert configuration
  • Runbooks

Consultants we place

Staffing is a separate engagement from project delivery. You can use either, or both.

Questions people ask

REST or FBDI?

FBDI suits large volumes of records. REST suits individual transactions and queries. Many projects use both.

How do we avoid breakage from quarterly updates?

Test integrations in a non-production environment before updates reach production, use documented APIs and avoid undocumented behavior.
