SOC 2 readiness
We help you get ready for the examination: pick the scope, design controls that fit how you operate, build the technical pieces and prepare evidence. A licensed CPA firm performs the audit and issues the report.
The problem this service solves
A SOC 2 request from a customer often arrives with a deadline. Teams discover that they need access reviews, change management evidence, vendor assessments, background checks and an incident process, and that none of it has been documented. The first audit window can then feel like a scramble.
Readiness work shortens that. We map your environment to the criteria, find the gaps, help you fix the technical ones and set up routines that produce evidence as a by-product of normal work.
What is in scope
-
Scope and criteria
Systems, services, locations and which criteria to include: Security always, plus Availability, Confidentiality, Processing Integrity or Privacy as relevant.
-
Gap assessment
Compare current controls with the criteria and the auditor’s likely expectations.
-
Technical controls
Access control, MFA, logging, vulnerability management, encryption, backup and secure development.
-
Policies and procedures
Concise documents that match what you actually do.
-
Evidence readiness
Define what evidence proves each control, who collects it and how often. Configure tooling where useful.
-
Vendor management
Inventory and review of key subservice organizations.
-
Mock walkthrough
Rehearsal of auditor questions and evidence requests.

Tooling and technique
Platforms listed are common choices. We are not resellers, and you do not need one to pass an audit.
Standards we map to
Mapping findings to a framework is not the same as certification against it.
Before we start
What we need from you
- A named internal owner for the program
- Customer requirements and timeline
- Access to HR, IT and engineering leaders
What this service is not
- A SOC 2 report (issued only by a licensed CPA firm)
- A guarantee of a clean opinion
What changes afterwards
- The audit is a confirmation of existing practice, not a scramble
- Evidence collection is routine
- Technical controls are real
Questions people ask
Type I or Type II?
Type I describes controls at a point in time. Type II tests them over a period, often three to twelve months. Many customers require Type II. Starting with Type I can be a stepping stone, depending on your auditor and customers.
Do we need a compliance automation platform?
It helps with evidence collection, especially for small teams. It does not replace actual controls. We can work with or without one.
Can you also be our auditor?
No. Independence rules require that the readiness consultant and the auditor are separate.
